What is probiotic?
Probiotic means health-promoting good bacteria and also called ‘flora’. Probiotic microorganisms may help to prevent overgrowth of potentiallyharmful bacteria and stimulate the intestinal immune defense system. Lactobacillus are normal inhabitants of the human intestine and vagina. Bifidobacterium are inhabitants of the colon.

Directions To Use
Indications :
♦ Prevention and treatment of diarrhoea, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
♦ To restore normal flora after diarrhoea or antibiotic therapy
♦ Immunoenhancement
Dosage :
In child, one capsule daily for prevention and one capsule two times daily for treatment.
In adult, two capsules daily for prevention and two capsules two times daily for treatment.
Contraindications : Intestinal damage, recent bowel surgery, organ transplant, immunosuppressive therapy and children under 1 year.
Caution : Mixing with hot food and drink should be avoided.
Drug and food interactions :
(1) It should be used 3 days after antibiotic therapy as it can reduce the effects of antibiotics.
(2) Antacids should be taken 30 minutes before taking to prevent damage by gastric acid.
(3) Probiotics may prolong the effect of diazepam and oral contraceptive pills. (4) Probiotics help Lactobacillus growth.
(5) Alcoholcan destroy probiotics.
